5 Books to Snuggle Up & Read This Winter

Alabama was shut down due to the threat of snow, this past weekend.  As a result, I was able to work a half day and make it home before all the ice and sleet became too dangerous. Once home, I immediately put on my comfy pajamas, knee high socks and picked up a good book.

One of my favorite past times is reading! I recently began a bookclub with some of my girlfriends and I am super excited to share my love of reading with them.  I’ve read a countless number of books over the years. Some of my favorite authors are James Patterson ( Alex Cross series )and John Sanford (Lucas Davenport series)! I usually like to read mystery novels, something with a lot of suspense that will keep me reading! I love reading physical and digital books.

The books I am going to mention can be bought digitally on amazon, at a local bookstore, or borrowed from the library.

Mr Mercedes by Stephen King

If you love books that are dark, this one is an amazing read. It will start of kind of slow, but stick with it…you won’t be able to put it down.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

This was another amazing and fast read. You will not put this down once you start reading it. I know what you’re thinking, “Is she going to say every book was amazing?” Yes, of course! I wouldn’t be recommending them if I didn’t think so, LOL.

Big Little Lies and The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty

Liane Moriarty is an amazing writer! All of her books have great plots and characters. Each story has it’s unique plot twist that will blow your mind!

The Last Child by John Hart

Last, and certainly not least, is The Last Child. I read this book in two days…I could not put it down. I would’ve finished it sooner if I didn’t have to work, help the kids with homework, and sleep, lol. This book is heart breaking and sad, but also shows how family is everything and the power of forgiveness.

Finally, what books have you read lately? Leave me some suggestions below. Although I love mystery and crime novels, I am always open to discovering new authors and genres.

  1. I am with a book club through my local library and enjoy it a lot because I’m reading books I never would have read before. I just finished Big Little Lies this past weekend and read The Husband’s Secret last year. I just started a new book today(7)and am striving to read a book a week. Which as a mom is pushing it but that’s a goal for 2017.

  2. I’ll check your book recommendations and PS you look great here! Your reading corner is very inviting and cozy 🙂

  3. I always here people recommending S King books so they MUST be good, I have got to read some now! 🙂 The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is another one that has been on my to read list for a while now 🙂

  4. I was able to
Read a synopsis of both of the Moriarty books. I don’t know which one I’d rather read first! Good selection.
