Happy 2018

Happy New Year, It’s 2018!!! Lol, yay yay I know I am really late, but that’s ok cuz who gonna check me, lol! Naw, but for real I am late and it is completely okay! If you ever heard of the story about the tortoise and the hare, lol I’m the tortoise of course! After the holiday I am all tired and worn out and it takes me longer to bounce back into the groove of things. AND I AM NOT ASHAMED! I knew I would come back when I was ready and today is that day, soooo, HAPPY NEW YEAR, again!

I know the tradition for a New Year is to write out your goals at the beginning of the year for all to see and examine, but I like to think and make sure I’m clear on what I want to achieve for the year. 1st let’s review last year’s goals and see if I achieved them. 2017 Goals

  1. SAVE MORE!: This was was a win for sure, I saved so much money last year, check out how I save $9,000 in six month & $16,000 in 11 months!
  2. BE MORE CONSISTENT: I was way more consistent in 2017, but not as much as I should have been but it was step up from 2016 for sure!
  3. TIME MANAGEMENT: So, yea this was a big fail, I got a lot of things accomplished last year, but it was definitely not planned, lol!
  4. TRAVEL, TRAVEL, TRAVEL: I smashed this goal last year, I went so many places, check out where I went here !

Alright re-cap done, now 365 days to achieve this years goals, so let’s see what I got in mind for 2018!

2018 Goals

  1. FINANCES: 

    If you have been following me for while then you know last year I became obsessed with my finances. Last year I was able to pay a lot of debt and save over 16,000 dollars. This year it’s go big or go home! I am committing to paying a whooping $10,000 in principal payments towards my car. This will allow me to pay off my car in two years, so excited to achieve this accomplishment. I am about to Slay 2018!

  2. BECOME HEALTHIER: 

    This will be a bit of a challenge, in 2016, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Check the full story here. After my surgery in 2016 my diet is limited and I had to cut out a lot of foods. So I am challenging my self to try and eat healthier this year regardless of my limitations. And to kick it off I am going vegan for 31 days starting today! I am also going to commit to doing some type of exercise for 30 mins for the next 31 days! Lord, I hope this goes will, lol!

  3. TAKE BETTER CARE OF MY HAIR: 

    If you didn’t know I am a bit of a hair influencer on YouTube, lol. I have been taking care of a growing my hair for the past 10 years. My hair has grown and thrived more then when I had other taking care of it. Last year I really neglected my hair thankfully I didn’t damage it too bad, so in 2018 I will do much better.

  4. SELF IMPROVEMENT: 

    Everyone has thing that way to change about themselves and it is not always linked to looks. I want to work on my and improve my attitude and patience. Anyone who knows me understand that I have no patience and that just makes my attitude much worse. This year I want to learn to step back and think before reacting to things that would normally lead to me being coping and attitude or being inpatient. This will take a lot of work, but I here for it, it needs to be done sooner rather than later.

  5. READ, READ, READ: 

    I am a avid reader and last year I just couldn’t find the time to read as much as I wanted too. I challenged myself to read 25 books last year and was shy about 2-3 books. The year I hope to reach that goal and exceed it. Check out my previous reading list here, here, here and follow me on Goodreads!

  1. I have always, always made some kind of New Year’s resolutions but I changed it up a little this year! Rather than setting my goals for the year, I actually compiled a list of things I want to get down for the month…. i feel it’s slightly easier to stick to and, worse case scenario, if I don’t get something done in Jan…it’s okay as I can pop it on my list for Feb (I’m not sure if that’s cheating or not but it works for me!)

    1. That sounds like a great plan Sara. I know other people who do that was well. I do have smaller goals each month, that fall under one of the categories. So I guess I do a combination.

  2. I hope you will achieve your goals for 2018.I could achive my goals for 2017.This year I have financial goals as still I am bit below of monthly income than working full time.Your financial goal gave me some inspiration.I also hope to travel lot.. 🙂

  4. My 2018 goals are also to become more financially conscious and make better purchase decisions. And holy smokes, look at you go, good to see your commitments to paying off your car. I too would like to be more health and food conscious. I have already tried adapting to a vegan lifestyle, it’s just harder trying to cut out certain things or find vegan friendly food in restaurants.

    1. Yes as adult finances are so important, I wish I knew about this sooner! I don’t eat out much so it hasn’t been a problem for me so far, but its only been 5 days, lol

  5. That’s a great list for sure. I am already doing good for funds management, but yes I would need to improve my health by taking care of my eating habits n stress level.
